Fun Friday Favorites: A variety of favorites

It’s my favorite day of the week!!! FRIDAY!! And that means it is time for Fun Friday Favorites!

For starters, as I shared in yesterday’s post, I’m working on being back on the blog 2-3 times a week. I realize life is super busy, but fashion and favorites cannot take a backseat. I have told myself that I will make Fun Friday Favorites easier on myself. I don’t always have time to scroll through websites, looking for the newest “MUST HAVE” fashions. And this next sentence will make Hubby really proud…And I don’t have time to go shop like I used to, be it at Von Maur or Target. (I know, these are sad days, my friends.) We are running every single night and during the days, if I’m not subbing, I’m writing and working on other projects. So, Fun Friday posts might look a little different, but I’ve never been one to share things with you if I didn’t love it. You’ll always see some fashion because Betsy Boo’s Boutique is an INCREDIBLE place to shop online. And then, whatever else stands out as a favorite. Books, food, fashion, makeup, ANYTHING. 🙂

Thanks for listening to me ramble. I hope all of that makes sense. Now, let’s get to it!

  1. Essie nail polish “Model Citizen” and Essie “top coat” –
I love this color! And the white bottle is the BEST top coat EVER!

I love this color! And the white bottle is the BEST top coat EVER!

I know I’ve blogged about Essie before, but they have a new nail polish out in this weird shaped bottle. I’ve had the white bottle, which is the top coat, but never the new polish in this kind of bottle. Wow. This stuff is amazing. I can’t believe how shiny my nails look. It looks like I went and had my nails done at a salon. I HIGHLY recommend this nail polish.

2. My Cobb Salad –

Yum.

Yum.

I’ve been eating this salad as often as I can. (Yes, it looks like yesterday’s lunch was rather large. #bigsalad) I realize it would be healthier without the bacon crumbled up and the blue cheese, but a girl has to enjoy her lunch if she’s going to eat it every single day of the week. Okay, that might be a little exaggerating, but not much. I am full aware of swimsuit season approaching and if I make healthy choices like eating a salad almost every day for lunch, then it helps me lose more LBS. What is in this scrumptious salad, you ask? Hearts of romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, one hard boiled egg, a little blue cheese, some avocado, a couple slices of bacon crumbled up, and Panera’s Greek Salad Dressing. I love it so much.

3. Streams in the Desert for Kids by L. B. Cowman –

I’ve blogged before about my favorite devotional of all times, Streams in the Desert by L.B. Cowman. Well, I was at Family Christian Bookstore awhile back and saw a kids version. This book has been great. The boys read it aloud and then we pray together. Such a great way to start our day. I HIGHLY recommend this for your kids. Maxim is in 2nd grade and he can read it and I feel it is relevant for high schoolers, too. Definitely a good investment.

Okay, you know I’m a fan of plaid. I saw this set on Betsy Boo’s website and instantly fell in love with it. It’d look great with jeans cuffed or even a pair of white skinny jeans. Just click on the peach words and you are taken right to the webpage. #easyshopping

5. Toms Lunata Suede booties from Nordstrom –

A staple for your closet. Toms booties.

A staple for your closet. Toms booties.

I bought these booties with birthday money back in November while on my Chicago shopping trip with my friends. And I’m not regretted this purchase one bit. I love the little fringe-like strap hanging off the zipper and these are just so fun to wear. I really wanted the light tan color, but at the time, those were sold out. Black is a versatile color and I wear them with everything, but I still dream of the light tan color…

6. St. Patrick’s Day decor –

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

This is so random, but a little green and gold and glitter have brightened this corner of our kitchen. A few years ago, Maxim was REALLY into St. Patrick’s Day, so I try and put out a few decorations in honor of his love for leprechauns. I got the little leprechaun, glitter shamrocks and gold coins and leprechaun hats, and festive wire at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. It’s a favorite because it’s so easy and yet so festive.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! Have a wonderful weekend!

Salads are so good for you. I ate them almost every day when your Mom and I were in Europe. I thought maybe, St. Patrick’s Day, would be for you know who.

Great to hear from you again! I think you should model your Besty Boo’s to see what they look like on a real person! 🙂 And have you heard of LipSense? It is riding the wave of popular over here. <3

Homan, I should model it…it’s fun to see the stuff on an actual person. I’ll check into that! Yes, I’ve heard of LipSense, but haven’t tried it. Have you? If so, fill me in…I’m curious!!
