Fun Friday Favorites: Cozy and comfy Christmas gifts

Hello dear friends and Happy New Year!!! It’s been rough getting back into a routine and that explains my lack of being on here lately…eeeeeks! But my fitness goals are coming along splendidly. #cantbegoodateverything

We had a wonderful and busy Christmas, caroling to and fro. Okay, so we didn’t go caroling (though I would have loved that!), but we did go to and fro and here and there and almost everywhere. It was busy. And then, as though my body knew that Christmas was over and it was okay to get sick…I did exactly that. The night of celebrating our eighth Christmas (Yes. You read that correctly.), we got home and immediately, I felt a wave of nausea come over me. And for the next ten hours, I was sicker than a dog. UGH. It took a few days to get out of my state of sickness and even a few days more to regain my energy. But I’m proud to say that this week has been great and I am feeling superb.

So, how was your Christmas?? Did you enjoy the season? Where there wonderful gifts that you received that don’t need taken back? Today, I’ll share just a few things that I got as Christmas gifts. I highly recommend them to you. And now…it’s time for Fun Friday Favorites!

  1. CuddlDuds crew socks –
Sooooo soft! I love these!

Sooooo soft! I love these!

My mom and Papa gave me these socks because they know I’m a sucker for soft and comfy socks. These are actually similar to the slouch socks I adored back in my college days, running around room 316 in Graham Hall, being the cool freshmen that I thought I was. Anyway… Younkers is where one can purchase these delightful socks and you’ll thank me for recommending them to you.

2.  Smartwool socks –

Another great pair of socks.

Another great pair of socks.

Hi. My name is Angela and I have a sock addiction. Seriously. I heart great socks! My mother-in-law introduced me to Smartwool socks about three years ago. And every Christmas, I ask her and my father-in-law for them. They hold their shape well and are so comfortable!! Scheels or Dick’s Sporting Goods carries the Smartwool socks.

3.  UGG Coquette slippers –

Be still my heart.

Be still my heart.

I was needing a new pair of slippers DESPERATELY. My old UGG slippers were beginning to give off a funky smell. #truth 🙂 Hubby and the boys got me these slippers for Christmas and I wear them every. single. day. The minute I walk in the door, I go searching for them, anxious to put my feet into this little bit of heaven. I’m happy I tried this version of UGG slippers this year. In years past, I wore the Dakota style, but I wanted to shake things up a bit and try something new. I love love love these! Scheels has a great selection of them, too. 🙂

4. Gooseberry Patch Quick & Easy Christmas cookbook –

All of the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks are great :)

All of the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks are great 🙂

I love getting cookbooks. There is just something cozy about curling up in my chair with my comfy blanket, reading a good cookbook and getting new ideas of things to make my family. I have a few of the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks and my mom and Papa got me this new one. So excited to read it front to back AND try new recipes!!

5. Beth Moore’s new book “Audacious” –

This gal can PREACH and INSPIRE like no other!

This gal can PREACH and INSPIRE like no other!

Oh. I love Beth Moore. About eleven years ago, I went to my first Beth Moore Bible study at our church. I fell in love with her teaching. This gal. She can bring it. I mean, BRING IT. She is so knowledgeable in the Bible and so motivating! When you read one of her books or participate in one of her studies, you are so encouraged and inspired. Friends, you will want to read this book. I’m not quite half way through and I absolutely love it. You know you’re reading a good book when you almost start bawling while reading the first page. To you it might not mean much, but to me…reading how she feels about her publisher LifeWay, made me tear up. That is the company I am praying to work with. My dream is to have as amazing of a relationship with this publishing company as she does.

The day before I got sick, I snapped this picture…

The boys and their friends were out playing in the snow and shoveling neighbors’ driveways and I had about twenty minutes of pure bliss. A yummy cinnamon roll, delicious coffee in the required cute mug, my favorite blanket, my new slippers, my new book, and Christmas lights twinkling. So many of my favorite things 🙂

And so, those are a few gifts I received for Christmas that are some of my favorites. With the cold wind chills coming our way this weekend, I plan to get all comfy and cozy in my favorites. How about you? What were a few of your favorites you received for Christmas? Anything comfy and cozy that you can’t live without?

Have a great weekend!  ~ xo Angela Banae
