Fun Friday Favorites: Fashion, family, and Christmas dishes & decor

November is here and friends, I am ready for some snow. ( If you dislike snow, then disregard what I just wrote.  And the next paragraph.)

Ever since Nate heard that it might snow, he’s been asking and anticipating it…just like his mama.  If the weather forecasters are correct, we may see some snow flurries next Monday and that will only fan my Christmas spirit flame.  I shared earlier in the week my love for Christmas EVERYTHING.  Only 50 days until Christmas and we are continuing our Christmas movie marathon in the evenings (when we don’t have practices).  I anticipate our marathon to continue tonight, complete with pizza, popcorn, and M&M’s.  That’s how we have some family fun on Friday nights.

But on to Fun Friday Favorites.  Because the world of great finds and fashion doesn’t stop just for a flurry (or hopeful chance of some flurries).

1.  Snowman Cookie Jar at Von Maur –

The cutest snowman EVER.

The cutest snowman cookie jar EVER.

The boys and I popped into Von Maur the other night before basketball practice and this cookie jar stopped me right. in. my. tracks.  Oh, the cuteness!!!  I absolutely LOVE snowmen AND the color red.  This would look great in my kitchen (can somebody give my dear Hubby a hint?) and it’s reasonably priced.  Below are the details, just in case you are shopping online.

2.  This “Let it Snow” Serving plate –

I love this!

I love this!

Oh, my.  I am loving everything about these dishes from Von Maur.  I was unable to find this online, but they have it in stores.  I was so excited about the red and white cuteness of this plate that I forgot to look at the price.  My theory:  When it comes to Christmas dishes, one can NEVER have enough.

3.  The cutest Christmas mug –

This mug...PLEASE!

This mug…PLEASE!

Again, I am slacking.  I didn’t check out the price when I saw this mug at Von Maur.  And it wasn’t online.  My apologies.  I’ll try and do a better job of window shopping.  I’m assuming it’s around $8, but then I’ve never been one to accurately guess prices.  I’m just dreaming of warm coffee with creamer and Redi-Whip in this cute mug.

4.  J.J. Basics Cardigan –

Have I told you how much I love cardigans?

When we were in Von Maur, I saw this cardigan and tried it on.  I had to use every ounce of self-control to not buy this darling cardigan right then and there.  The neutral color is perfect and at $34, it is just all around amazing.

5.  Sebby winter white jacket with tie belt –

This is a darling coat at a great price.

I tried on this darling jacket at Von Maur and then saw the price…$60.  Friends, this is a great deal.  I love the peacoat look and the tie belt makes the jacket so flattering.

6.  Snowflake pillows from Target –

I saw these two pillows at Target and this is soooo weird, but…they ended up in my shopping cart and came home with me.  I can’t explain it.  Other than they’ll look great in our living room.  I love the neutral colors and they’ll be great accessories on our couches all winter long.

When looking at Target online, I saw these two pillows that are just as cute:

7.  Nate and Maxim playing together –

Love these two.

Love these two.

One of my absolute favorite things…when our boys play together NICELY.  They’ve set this race track up a couple of times this week and raced about 216 cars down this track.  Notice the clever gray ramp by the yellow piece?  It goes to these mini racer cars, not the Hot Wheels.  But Nate used his clever thinking and used it as ramp for his Hot Wheel/Matchbox cars.  Sure, our living room was messy and toys were scattered everywhere.  But I love seeing this rather than their sweet little faces glued to electronics.  Playing together…brotherly love…most definitely a fav of mine.

Whether it be playing with your kids or grandkids, shopping for some festive pillows and decor, or just getting out your own tub of holiday decorations…do it well and be joyful!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Two questions…….what is Von Maur and what happened to Thanksgiving.

    Elaine,
Von Maur is a great department store located in the midwest. It is similar to Macy’s. They have great shoes, handbags, make-up, fashion, and some home decor. I love that store!
And Thanksgiving…I’m still honoring it with my “Give Thanks” sign and pumpkins and fall floral arrangements. I am just so excited when I see all of this Christmas stuff!! But don’t think that I don’t love Thanksgiving! I love the simplicity of the holiday because it’s all about being thankful for the many blessings God gives us and of course…the great food and family time 🙂
