Fun Friday Favorites: I’m back! With a recipe, fashion, and lots more!

Hello friends!

It has been FOREVER, I know. While I didn’t intend on taking seven weeks off from blogging (seriously, that was like a sabbatical, only it was unpaid. 🙂 Hahaha), it happened and I hope you’ve missed me as much as I’ve missed you!

I have much to share about our summer. Our family vacation to Pittsburgh, head over heels in puppy love, a fun 40th birthday party at the lake with friends…a lot went on this summer! But I thought of no better way to get back into my blogging world than with my first post being Fun Friday Favorites. Happy Friday and let’s get started!

  1. Betsy Boo’s Navy Plaid Shirt Set –
    How adorable is this?!

    How adorable is this?!

(pre-order) Set 107: Navy Plaid Shirt Set (includes shirt, tank, & hat)

You all know how much I adore plaid. This shirt with the layering tank will be perfect for fall! The trucker hat? LOVE IT. You can pre-order this set now, so hurry and order! Click on the link above and you’ll go right to the site!

2.  Betsy Boo’s Beige Blouse & Plaid Scarf Set –

A classic for fall

A classic for fall

Set 973: Beige Blouse & Plaid Scarf Set (includes top, tank & scarf)

This beige blouse needs to be in my closet. And the scarf…yes, please. Of course, the set looks great with jeans, but you could dress it up a little bit and pair it with some olive skinny jeans, too. And perhaps leopard booties? Hopefully, adding the links below the pictures is making it easy peasy for you to get your shopping done. 🙂

3. Betsy Boo’s Laurel Floral Open Chiffon Cardigan –

This is a cardigan you MUST get

Laurel Floral Open Chiffon Cardigan

I believe a few months ago I highlighted this cardigan, but it deserves to be mentioned again. Because you’ll see me wearing it in a picture posted below. I love how you can wear this cardigan with shorts, capris, or skinny jeans. The lightweight, sheer material makes this perfect for fall…because it’s always cool in the morning and then, warm by the afternoon.

4. Bath & Body Works Limoncello candle –

Mmmmmm...this smells amazing!

Mmmmmm…this smells amazing!

I’m a firm believer that candles help you love your home. Not that I don’t love my home. I do. But sometimes, I don’t always appreciate the good things I have. I tend to be on the go doing this and that, wanting more, and allowing discontentment to settle in. Which is so wrong! But when I stay home, light some candles, and work on loving my home…I’m much more grateful and happier. This Limoncello candle is one of my favs! And I always get in the mood to bake when I have this candle burning. #Ilovelemonmuffins #andlemonbars #andlemonpoppyseedbread

5.  Perfect Pulled Pork Recipe –

Here’s an easy recipe for you!

Perfect Pulled Pork

3 or 4 lbs. pork roast

2 cans of Pepsi

1 onion, cut into large pieces

Trim fat off the roast and rinse with water. Place in crockpot and put onion pieces on top of the roast. Pour one can of Pepsi over the entire roast, making sure the roast is sitting in enough liquid. Cook on high for 6 hours. Remove from crock pot after 6 hours and discard the onion. Cut off any excess fat (and I scoop the fatty pieces out of the crockpot, too). I drain the liquid, but you wouldn’t need to. Place pork back in the crock pot and shred with a fork. Add half a can of Pepsi to the shredded pork or more if needed. This will keep the meat moist. This pulled pork makes great sandwiches or make shredded pork tacos with it! So delicious!

6.  Havaianas flip flops –

These are my absolute fav

These are my absolute fav

So, I’ve had these flip flops for a few years. And I ADORE them. Until…Daisy got a hold of them this past week and CHEWED THROUGH THE STRAP. #ugh  There may have been some weeping and gnashing of teeth by me, but I’m making it through these tough, despondent times. I foresee these slim crystal flip flops getting added to my shopping cart in the near future…

While on the flip flop kick, I thought I’d share these Havaianas that I love, too…

I realize fall is on our heels (no pun intended), but I will continue to wear my flip flops through the next month or so because well…because I can. #keepsummergoing

7.  Back to School pics –

First Day of School!

First Day of School!

It’s hard to believe that Nate is in 6th grade and Maxim is in 2nd grade! Praying they have the best year yet!

8.  This pup…

Love her tons!

Love her tons!

Besides this looking like a hazy senior picture moment, I love it. Daisy May has been with us for seven weeks now and we love her so much. Yesterday, she had a little surgery (the female kind) and when I brought her home, she had the saddest puppy dog eyes. So, Nate took this picture. She’s feeling better today and psssttt…notice the Betsy Boo’s cardigan?! 🙂

That’s all for today’s Fun Friday Favorites! Can you do me a favor? Well…actual two favors. 1. Comment below what you love to see highlighted on my blog! Fashion? Family? Things for the home? Recipes? 2. Share this blog and spread the word! Thank you so much!

Have a great weekend! xo ~ Angela Banae

I still can’t believe how much you love that dog. I remember you barely tolerating our farm dogs whenever they were around…but they were pretty smelly dogs.

JD, I KNOW! I’ve come a long way in the animal world! Daisy has such a sweet disposition, making her super easy to love. Though when she ruined my favorite flip flops, I was slightly angry. She was in the doghouse for a few hours LOL 😉
Thank you for commenting on the blog!

Hope you keep loving Daisy when she goes through her toddler stage… 🙂 My favorite… I love your fashion suggestions! That cardigan is gorgeous. I wonder if it is the same as the kimonos over here. Is the Lularoe craze hitting Iowa yet? Nice to see you back!

Hey Michelle! Yes…I hear doggie toddler stages aren’t too fun….Oh BOY.
And thanks for the feedback! Glad you are loving the fashion ideas!! I’ll keep it up!
The cardigan is actually a kimono…so lightweight and great to wear! Betsy Boo’s has TONS of great things and she’s right here in the area! I have heard about the Lularoe, but haven’t personally tried it out.
      Hugs and MUUUUAAAWWW!
