It’s hard to believe that November is almost half over.  And you all.  I need to get a move on my Christmas shopping.  I want to have my shopping done and gifts wrapped by the second week in December.  I realize these are high hopes, but we’ve all gotta dream.

Today, I’m excited to talk about make-up.  I’ve been asked about what kind of make-up I use and my “go to” eyeshadow colors.  I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite make-up items.  Most of the items I’ll share are MAC cosmetics.  You can purchase MAC cosmetics from the MAC website or the Nordstrom site.

Now, you may have some type of make-up that you absolutely LOVE.  Friends, I’m open to suggestions…share below with a comment.  Every girl loves a little make-up and it’s a win-win for all when you share what your favorite is.

 

1.  MAC “Jest” eye shadow –

I use this eye shadow over my entire eyelids.  It’s a great neutral color and I’ve worn this shade for years.  Never goes out of style.

 

2.  MAC “Sable” eye shadow –

I use this darker color on the outer half of my eyelids.  Again, this is a color I’ve used for years.  It never goes out of style!

I am being brave and posting this picture.  Ignore the little “laugh lines”.  And I hadn’t combed my eyebrows yet (yes, I have to comb those babies.  They can be a hot mess at times.)  Here is how I apply my eyeshadow:

 

3.  MAC “Plum Foolery” blush –

I’ve tried other blush colors and I always go back to this one.  MAC has the best selection of colors.  And this will last you a long time.

 

4.  MAC “Stubborn Brown” eye pencil –

I like this eye liner and it goes on gently.  I’m on the lookout for possibly trying a different color, but for now, this works fine for me.  I’d love your suggestions on eye liner that you love.

 

5.  MAC “Snob” and “Oyster Girl” Lipglass –

I use these two lip glosses all. the. time.  They are light and at times, I will even put them over lipstick.  When I buy my lip gloss, I buy two or three of them…one for my purse, one for my car, and one stays in my cosmetic drawer in our bathroom.

 

6.  Avon’s “Sugar Cookie” lip balm –

Listen.  These are $.99 and at that price, I buy usually four of them for myself and more as little gifts.  My aunt Nancy sells Avon and here is her link for you to purchase from her website. Nancy’s Avon website  Santa has been known to put these in the boys’ stockings because even little ones get chapped lips from time to time.  I use this lip balm year round, so that is why I stock up at Christmas.  I have one Sugar Cookie lip balm on my nightstand and one in my cosmetic drawer.  It’s never good when you don’t have your favorite lip balm!  Stock up, friends.  Stock up.

 

7.  Mascara –

So, I have been using Lancome’s “Drama” mascara with the “Primer Booster” applied first.  But I do love Estee’ Lauder’s Sumptuous Extreme Lash mascara, too.  And Estee Lauder’s Sumptuous Waterproof Bold Volume mascara is my favorite waterproof mascara.  Friends, I am open to new mascara options.  I am willing to try a new one because eyelashes must be pampered.

 

And yes…for the first time ever…I have an eighth item that is listed on my Fun Friday Favorites…Usually it’s only seven.  I’m shaking things up, people.  🙂

8.  Estee Lauder Bronzer –

I am a fan of bronzer powder.  You get a sun-kissed glow AND it is healthy for you because it comes from make-up and not the actual sun.  (Though if you ask me, I’d go to the Caribbean in a heart beat to bask in the sun…)  This gives you nice color and it lasts FOREVER.  I’ve had my powder for two years.  (I know.  You’re suppose to throw make-up away after a year, but I’m not doing it.  You can’t make me.)

I hope this has been helpful.  Maybe not as fun as seeing Christmas pillows and warm, comfy cardigans, but we all know make-up is VERY important.
