Fun Friday Favorites: It’s officially sweater weather

Look at those two handsome boys. The other night, we stopped by Daddy’s work and they immediately began “working” at his desk. They never run out of energy. Me, on the other hand. I run out of energy when I have to remember decimal rules. Yes. Our week was filled with all kinds of excitement.

We’ve had a typical week of homework, trombone practice, basketball practices, and googling decimal rules. That’s right. Mid-week, fifth grade math challenged this mama. But as soon as I saw Google’s answer, I remembered the rule. #realprobs

Why don’t I just talk about the weather next? Cover all of the important issues. I don’t know about you, but all week long, I have felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. The wind has been outrageous! I question myself for even trying to curl/straighten/style my hair. It’s a big mess the minute the wind hits it. Welcome to windy, sweater weather.

Fun Friday Favorites will consist of sweater options, considering the forecast is not promising 80 degree weather anytime soon. So grab your coffee or whatever fuel you need and let’s get to this!

l. Bell Sleeve Cardigan from Nordstrom –

Yes, please.

Yes, please.

This cardigan sweater looks delightful. It would look great with some tall brown boots or a pair of short booties. This sweater would be well-worn if I had it. 🙂

2. Open-front Cocoon Cardigan from Old Navy –

A great classic.

A great classic.

I bought a black cardigan like this last year and I have gotten so much use out it. This basil pesto color looks great with the gray jeans she is wearing. And Old Navy is having a sale…so it’s even a better price than the one shown!

This is Old Navy's sale...going on through the 14th, I believe.

3. Marled Open-front Cardigan from Old Navy –

Sheer coziness!

Sheer coziness!

This black marl reminds me of socks I used to own…the slouch socks. I’m a fan of the marled color and I’d be thrilled to wrap myself up in this cardigan.

4. Cable-knit sweater from Old Navy –

Surprise. Another gray sweater.

Surprise. Another gray sweater.

Well, doesn’t she look darling in this cable-knit? I love it. Wear some tall black riding boots (or brown) and you have a classic look. It’d look great with a pencil skirt, as well.

5. Shawl-collar cardigan from Old Navy –

This is a great combo.

This is a great combo.

I’m thinking about getting this for Hubby. He’s normally not a cardigan guy, but this sweater looks great with a printed button-down underneath it.

6.  Crew-neck sweater from Old Navy –

Timeless.

#Timeless

This is such a sharp look. I love the plaid peeking out from underneath the crew-neck sweater. And what a great price!

7. Nate working on his homework –

#mapskills

Notice the picture? It’s Nate working on map skills. NOT multiplying decimals that require  this mom to remember the decimal place rule. Growing up, I loved social studies and map skills; Nate does, too! I was so proud of Nate working on this project and he even came up with some clever towns…Steelers, Football, and Gold. 🙂

8. Maxim moments –

#LeBron

#LeBron

And this happened. The other night, I heard Maxim reading aloud to himself when he was suppose to be getting ready for bed. “LeBron” was wearing his white headband, reading books in bed. 🙂

Thursday night, we got home from practice and it looked like Maxim’s backpack had thrown up all of his work. Hahaha We went through his papers and I just love seeing our little first grader’s writing. That Build-a-Sentence paper is suppose to say The boy is drinking. 🙂 Jrencken. Drinking. Whatever.

And that’s all for today’s favorites! Get your sweaters out and wear them, or better yet…go shop for a few! Don’t forget to reflect on your favorite moments from the week. It’s so good when we slow down and think about all that we have…so much to be thankful for!

Have a great weekend and stay warm! xo Angela Banae
