Fun Friday Favorites: Jimmy Fallon, flatbread, & nails

Well, it’s hard to believe that I’ve made it through a week of this blogging stuff.  I really feel like a parent of a newborn…I’m staying up late with this thing, getting up early, and though I’m not changing poopy diapers or needing to nurse, I do have this motherly love in a ridiculously weird way for this blog.

Now, for my Fun Friday Favorites.

1.  Jimmy Fallon.  The Tonight Show.  Ohhhh…I. love. his. humor.  Maya Rudolph was on Wednesday night and they were hilarious!  And Monday night, she will have a one-hour special variety show “The Maya Rudolph Show” on NBC.  I’ll be setting my DVR for that one.

2.  Panera’s new Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread.  Okay, ignore the unsophisticated photo I snapped with my phone.  (I’m so ungifted in the whole technology field.)  But seriously.  I would normally never try something like this, but I was feeling wild and well.  I loved it.  A lot.

3.  These pink glitter nails.  Oh, my.  I got my nails done for the first time w/ shellac before we went to Vegas.  Then, for Easter, I had this color with the glitter put on.  Love.  I’ve had it done one more time, since then.  I’ve gotten so many compliments on them…so girly and sparkly!

4.  This top…love it.  I bought this at Von Maur and it looks great with some turquoise jewelry and skinny jeans.  Even some white skinny jeans (yes, I know it’s before Memorial Day…but you CAN wear white now.  It’s fashionably acceptable.) would be perfect with it.

5.  Poppy perfume by Coach.  It has the fuchsia ribbon around the cap…don’t be fooled by other Poppy scents.  I’ve loved this scent for over a year.  Then, Younkers and Von Maur stopped carrying it.  I cried.  Threw a fit.  Then, one day, I was at Target when what to my wondering eyes should appear??  Yes.  I was jumping up and down in the aisles.  Well, not really, but I was out of my mind happy.  So, Target, this is another reason why I love you so much.

6.  Nerf Gun fights…boys being boys!  Okay, a favorite of mine is seeing our boys be all rough and tough with excitement and giggles.  This is Nate using the Nerf gun he got for Easter.  It shoots discs, so one is bound to find a disc in the yard while mowing, behind a chair, or in a laundry basket.  But look at the smile on his face…priceless.

7.  Four year old preschool…definitely one of my favorite moments this week!  I had so much fun enjoying the day with Maxim at his preschool on Wednesday.  He was thrilled that I spent the whole day with him.  Just look at Mrs. Hoffman teaching the little kiddos in the picture below.  And when she read Ten Little Rubber Ducks by Eric Carle, I was mesmerized.  I was so impressed with Mrs. Uthe’s art center as she helped them make darling peacocks.  Mrs. Gott had them painting away to make a snake!  Folks, four year old preschool is FUN.  I was a little nervous about being a good listener.  (I’ve always had a problem keeping quiet in class.)  There was only one moment…Mrs. Gott and I were talking and I did not realizing we were practicing a fire drill.  I thought we were just going out for recess.  Other than that, I did pretty good.  On our way home, I was just like any other four year old.  I was really tired and a nap would have topped off the day (though that didn’t happen).
