Fun Friday Favorites: Laid back fashion and a little basketball

Before I even start with the wonderful Fun Friday Favorites, I feel the need to scream with excitement!  We are DONE with many major commitments and summer is about to start feeling like summer.  Whoop whoop.

While the boys have LOVED their summer camps and ball games and track meets and such, I can’t express how it feels to know that next week I can begin to work on some home projects instead of tacking on miles in my car.  The driving here, there, and everywhere is about to slow down for awhile.  Bring on sleeping in (the boys, that is), eating lunches at home, and starting to clean out a closet or two.

And now, for Fun Friday Favorites!  I’ve got a little laid back fashion, a tasty beverage, yummy recipe that you may have missed on Wednesday, and a little basketball…

1.  Under Armour Fly-By t-shirts –

I bought a few of these tops for working out awhile back at Scheel’s.  Mine were actually on sale (as in under $15 on sale!), but these are the newest colors out on the market.  I love the length of them (they cover up your booty a little 😉 ) and they are cool and flowy.  Perfect to wear with your capris or running shorts.

2.  Nike Vintage capris –

The most comfy capris ever.

The most comfy capris ever.

A month or two ago I talked about these, but I’ve gotten so much use out of them that I felt the need to highlight them again.  I wear these a lot and they look great with the Under Armour Fly-By tops.  You can go to Dick’s Sporting Goods online to purchase these comfy and casual capris. #perfectsummerattire

3.  Mirage Pak Waistpack by Nathan –

This is a great waist pack to wear when running (sorry for the sideways picture!)

A few weeks ago, I bought this waist pack at Dick’s Sporting Goods for $19.99, I believe.  I always carry my phone when running (#musicmotivatesme) and my phone squeezes into this tiny waist pack.  You could also throw in your keys, if needed.  It fits snug up to your waist when running and since the pouch is ultra tiny, it doesn’t jiggle around.

4.  V-8 Fusion Energy drinks –

So delicious!

So delicious!

I LOVE these drinks.  They are low in carbs and sugar, yet give you GREAT natural energy from green tea.  Plus, each drink has 1 serving of vegetables & fruit combined.  A great way to get fruits and veggies on busy days.  I’ve been drinking these when I’d rather munch on unhealthy snacks…they are filling and then, I have a boost of energy!

5.  Easy Guacamole –

On Wednesday, I shared this amazing and EASY Guacamole recipe.  You’ll love it so much that you’ll probably make it weekly during these warm summer months. 🙂 Click on this link Easy Guacamole recipe to be dazzled by this simple recipe.

6.  Fluid shadow-strip hi-lo tee from Gap –

These tops are great.  Put a cami underneath and throw on some necklaces and bracelets and you’re ready for the day.  I love these tops!

7.  Daytrip’s striped tube top maxi dress from The Buckle –

I love the cut of this maxi dress.  Throw on some wedges and a few gold bangle bracelets and you’ve got a cute look for church, date night, or attending a wedding.  This is so reasonable and I found it online on The Buckle’s website.

8.  Jersey tank maxi dress from Old Navy –

Such cute stripes!

Such cute stripes!

I can’t remember if I highlighted this before, but I love Old Navy maxi dresses and I felt this was worth showcasing.  I love the colors of these warm stripes.  And look…it’s on sale! Old Navy…you really know how to mark things down.  $2.94 in savings?!  Wow.  But seriously, this dress would be great and with that $2.94 savings, you could go and buy yourself a pack of gum with all of that extra money you just saved from their sale.

9.  Maxim’s Prairie Basketball Camp –

Look at Maxim :)

Look at Maxim guarding 🙂

After weeks of running to big brother’s camps, it was finally Maxim’s turn.  This week, Maxim had basketball camp from 8:00-9:30 Monday through Thursday.  His basketball camp was for incoming 1st and 2nd graders.  I cannot tell you how CUTE it was to watch these little guys.  The first day, I sat in awe and watched as the coaches had amazing patience with these little ones.  Listen.  These are our high school basketball coaches and they were incredible with these little boys.  At one point, I would have felt like I was herding cats, but those men had so much patience for the little six and seven year olds.  I was so impressed.  Each day, it was fun to watch the boys work on their skills.

Maxim LOVED the end of each day because they scrimmaged.  During the scrimmages, you’d see these little guys give it all they had.  They’d double dribble, travel (some of them…a lot), and at times, resemble little jack rabbits jumping all over.  But it was so good to see them play the game.  His favorite…when his team got to be the “Skins”.  Shirts vs. Skins… #startthemyoung

On the third day of camp, Maxim got the Gatorade Award.  He was so excited!  I was so proud of watching Maxim hustle, work on his skills, and be a great teammate. 🙂

10.  Chick-fil-a with the boys –

Love our boys :)

On Wednesday, we had Maxim’s camp at 8:00-9:30, then a dermatologist appointment for me at 9:45 (a good check-up), and since we were over by Lindale Mall…we HAD to eat lunch at Chick-fil-a.  We LOVE that place and can’t wait for the Chick-fil-a on our side of town to be up and running!

How about you?  What fun family times have you been enjoying?  I hope I’ve inspired you today…whether it be trying out a drink that gives you a serving of fruits and vegetables or just sitting back and watching your family live life and enjoying it.

And of course, I had to throw in a few fashion items…because we all love a little fashion 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend!   ~ Angela Banae xo
