Fun Friday Favorites: Simple and easy Easter decorating for the home

I can’t believe that Easter will be here before we know it.  Time is flying just like the robins that are swarming in our yard.  Spring is here and I couldn’t be happier.  Today’s Fun Friday Favorites will get you in the mood to decorate your home for Easter (if you haven’t already done so).  And by decorating, I’m using that term loosely.  If throwing a bunny and a few tulips in a vase is decorating, then YES.  I’ve been decorating up a storm.

1.  Christ the Lord is Risen Today Alleluia sign –

My fav…this saying on the board

Remember my friend Mandy who has as awesome home decor/sign making business?  I wrote a post about her business, Making it Mandy’s on this blog post here (Making It Mandy’s).  Well, my bestie saw a sign similar to this on Pinterest and she contacted Mandy and BAM.  Mandy made us each one!  I love this saying and every time I read it, I start singing the hymn.  Such great news for ALL of us!  He has risen!  The reason we celebrate Easter!!  If you’d like a sign like this, you may contact Mandy at (319)-270-9973.  This sign is 18×15 and is $40.  Michael’s always has a great selection of flowers and I found the pink tulips there this year.  I plan to leave this sign up all spring with the tulips next to it 🙂

2.  A few little bunnies and a basket of tulips –

I love my Longaberger shelf even though it's fifteen years old!

I love my Longaberger shelf!

In our kitchen we have this Longaberger shelf that we’ve had for fifteen years. I love to decorate it with a few little trinkets or whatever and the basket always has seasonal flowers in it.  Simple, yet a little splash of color.  The bunnies and tulips were bought at Von Maur last year.  Von Maur always has darling festive decorations for the holidays.

3.  A bunny and a vase of lemons –

Look at this cute little guy!

Look at this cute little guy!

I got this little guy at Wal-Mart this year for around $4.00.  He looks great next to my vase of lemons (not real, of course).  My mom glued the burlap and twine around this vase for my 40th birthday party (she decorated with burlap and pink…LOVED IT!).  This little arrangement sets on our island in the kitchen.  Again.  Simple, but festive.

4.  The white bunny look –

More tulips and another bunny :)

More tulips and another bunny 🙂

Last year (or maybe the year before?), Von Maur had this bunny and so I picked one up for my Grandma Helen for her birthday and I just HAD to pick one up for myself.  I put it near my white and salmon colored tulips.  Easy peasy decorating, friends.  Nothing difficult here.  Just add a bunny and some tulips and wa-laaaaa.

5.  Spring ornaments on our lighted tree –

This is the tree that I got a year ago at Restoration Hardware.  It stays up all year long, except for at Christmas when we put our Christmas tree in this place.  I bought some wooden springtime ornaments in Target’s Dollar Spot last year or so.  Four ornaments for CHEAP.  The Dollar Spot always has reasonable priced items that you can use to add some holiday flare to your home.  Check out Target’s Dollar Spot if you haven’t!

6.  Easter Egg Wreaths –

I’m a firm believer in more more more.  Why just hang a wreath on your front door for others to see and your family can’t see it?  Hang one on the INSIDE of your door, too.  The first wreath was from Target (two or three years ago) and the bottom wreath with the burlap ribbon is from Hobby Lobby THIS YEAR!

7.  Pottery Barn rabbit pillows –

So much cuteness all stuffed into this pillow!

So, I do not have these two pillows, but wouldn’t they look darling on a couch?  I love the neutral colors of the pillows.  I found them online at Pottery Barn.  And they have free shipping!  A few springy throw pillows with cute bunnies on them…YES PLEASE.

Hopefully, I’ve inspired you to pick up a cute little bunny and a few tulips.  Or purchase a few throw pillows with cute bunnies on them.  Do a little decorating.  And leave it up ALL spring.  Clearly, I’m not a crafty and fancy kinda gal, but even the few decorations that I have placed around our home make it more festive and cozy.  How about you?  Have you found some cute Easter decorations that don’t require a mother load of craft supplies?  Please share them with me!  I’m always looking for holiday decorations to add to our collection.  The boys LOVE having our home ready for the holidays and I do, too!  Hoppy Decorating 🙂
