Fun Friday Favorites: Speaking engagements, books, and other great things!

Hello dear friends! It’s been a CrAzY week with us running every which way but loose. Or maybe that was just a movie back in the late ’70s. Whatever. That is how I felt. Running here and there and everywhere. I don’t foresee it getting better until the end of April. Somebody hold me.

I’ll jump right into some great things that you MUST check out. These things will fill your happy cup full. And now, for this week’s Fun Friday Favorites…

  1.  Stonebridge Women’s Brunch –

About two months ago, I had my first speaking engagement at the Union Mills Women’s Retreat. You all. This was such an amazing day and I was so humbled that God gave me this opportunity to speak about the great things He has been teaching me. Well, next Saturday, I’ll be in Cedar Rapids at Stonebridge Church speaking at the Women’s Brunch. I am so excited that God has given me another opportunity to share my heart. The brunch is free, it’s from 9 – 11 and all ladies are welcome to attend! I hope you will come and be blessed by a wonderful morning filled with great things! Comment below if you’re interested and I’ll get you signed up!!

2.  This book. The “Gideon” Bible Study –

This book is an amazing study that will capture your heart.

This book is an amazing study that will capture your heart.

Two weeks ago, we started reading this book. It’s actually a Bible study book and it has been so powerful. Priscilla Shirer is an amazing teacher who helps you see how relevant the Bible is to your life. It’s not too late to join our Monday Night Bible study. Let me know if you’re interested. Or get the book yourself and do it at your own pace. There are videos to watch each week and friends, this sister BRINGS IT. #lovePriscillaandherboldness

Last night, we watched “The Dude Perfect Show”. Nate has followed this group of guys on Instagram and YouTube for a long time. When he found out they were going to start their own tv series, he was SOLD. He had the DVR set to record and thank goodness he did. We sat down to watch it last night (after getting home late from football practice #busylives) and we all loved it. These five guys are outstanding men who do crazy trick shots, funny dares, and amazing things that makes one watch in awe. They are hilarious, real, and the best thing…it’s clean tv. No garbage flailing from their mouths. No inappropriate comments. Just good, clean fun and sooooo entertaining! The best part. Check out their website and read what they are about… Dude Perfect. One of my favorite things they wrote on their site is this – “We believe that nothing happens by accident, that God’s given us this platform for a reason, and that we have an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of countless others all around the globe.” The other thing they wrote is hands-down my favorite, “our ultimate goal is to glorify Jesus Christ in everything that we do. We want to use this platform for something much bigger than us.” Boom. They nailed it. #powerful Check out their show and let’s keep things like this on the air!

Enjoying Papa’s birthday lunch with him, my mom, and my grandma

On Wednesday, my grandma, my mom, and I helped my stepdad celebrate his birthday. We had a great lunch at Red Lobster, laughing and enjoying the great day. Then, they came back to our house and waited for Nate & Maxim to get home from school so we could enjoy some birthday cupcakes from Molly’s Cupcakes (out of North Liberty). The lemon raspberry cupcake was my favorite. Hubby was still at work, but he called in to wish him a Happy Birthday…it was a special day celebrating a special Papa.

5. I’m on Twitter!

That’s right. Follow me on Twitter and watch how I use 140 characters or less to say something. #shortbutsweet  Yes. It is challenging for someone like myself who tends to be a little long-winded. 🙂

A shorter than usual Fun Friday Favorites post, I know. But check your calendar! I hope you can join me next Saturday at the Women’s Brunch!! And snag a copy of Gideon…you’ll love it. Have a wonderful weekend! xo ~ Angela Banae
