This week is a random of favorites. I can’t explain it other than blame it on my love of family, food, and fashion.
1. Express cardigan –
The perfect cozy cardigan
I saw this at Express last weekend and fell in love with it. I’m a sucker for a comfy, cozy cardigan that you can throw on with leggings. In store, they have a charcoal gray color and it screamed, “BUY ME”. Express has a sale going on right now, so if you are wanting needing a comfy lounge sweater, then I believe it’s a win-win situation.
2. Michael Kors Sporty Citrus perfume –
Michael Kors Sporty Citrus
I’ve been on the look out for a new scent to wear and this one is amazing. The bottle is about $78 so, I thought this would be a great way to ‘try it out’. It’s a clever little contraption of perfume at one end and lip gloss on the other. This dual wand is located at Von Maur, though I saw the perfume at Younkers, also.
3. Younkers coffee mugs –
Set of 2 mugs for $24
Aren’t these mugs with dots and stripes just perfect for fall? I LOVE red and you can go online and purchase these through Younkers. Fill up your mug with some warm caramel drizzled apple cider, chai tea, or your favorite cup of coffee. Mmmmm…
4. Nordic Ware bacon-grill set at Target –
For cooking the perfect bacon
Every time we visit my parents, our boys (myself included) rave about the delicious bacon they cook. Confession: For the past year or two, I’ve resorted to the Oscar Mayer full cooked bacon in. the. box. As in, heat it up for 20 seconds and you’ve got…bacon. Or something like that. PATHETIC. I know. Well. With this bacon grill platter, I plan to buy real bacon and cook it at breakfast time for our boys. Target has this (with the splatter cover) for $12.99. Such a deal.
5. Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon –
The best bacon. Oh. My.

My stepdad is a bacon connoisseur. He has tried bacon from Kansas City, Wisconsin, you name it…and he found this one. (His daughter, Cindy, bought him a bacon sampler pack for Christmas (which he loved) and this was one of the places that sent him bacon.) After his sampler ran out, Papa Joe has continued to purchase this Applewood Smoked bacon because it is just that good. This bacon has a delicious smoky flavor and it is out of this world delicious. Nueske’s has a variety of hams, bacons, and gift ideas…perfect for the upcoming holidays.
6. Maxim and his letters –
One of my favorites this week has been hearing our sweet kindergartener, Maxim, talk and talk about the alphabet. The other night, he came up with a game. “Y, M, P. Guess a letter Mom.” I’d guess a letter and it was never the letter Maxim was thinking of. Go figure. Then, he asked Daddy and Nate to join in the fun. “You guys guess a letter too, Dad and Nate.” So, we’d guess a letter and whoever guessed the same letter that Maxim was thinking of got a little smooch on the check. I love seeing him excited about learning and of course, his “games” that he has us play just cracks us up.
7. Nate is a Kid Picker –
The other day, Nate was talking with his buddy. This buddy told Nate that he was a Kid Picker, just like the guys in American Pickers. Well, as soon as we got home, Nate bolted for the computer and typed up his own “business cards” or “fliers”. It looked like this:
Kid pickers
looking for…model cars
old basketballs
bats
autograph
signs
thank you!
And then it had an address to get in touch with him. Well, Daddy took a flier to work and Nate is waiting to see what great items people are willing to sell (at a cheap price, of course). I love his entrepreneurship and enthusiasm. So, if you have any of his items you’re wanting to get rid of…I’ve got an interested buyer.
Such a variety in this post, I know. Hopefully you were able to relate to something. Be it fashion, bacon, or reflecting on your own joyful moments with your family. 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend!
