Fun Friday Favorites: Life Lately & Springtime Fashion

Well, helllllooooo! Are you all enjoying this freezing cold weather, like myself?? (EXCEPT NOT.) Seriously, this cold snap has gotta go. These bitter winds, SNOW (?!??), and cold temps have been cruel to my new, cute springtime shoes. Those cute peep toe booties haven’t even made it out of their boxes. *sigh

But today is Friday and that means I get to share some of my favorites with you! That’s enough to brighten your day, isn’t it??! Let’s get started with today’s Favorites!

1.Easter –

We love celebrating Easter and the GOOD NEWS that it brings. Jesus arose and because of what He did for us on that cross…that is my absolute favorite thing. I’ll never get over God’s love for us.

Our Easter morning started at 5:45 a.m. when Maxim wanted to get up and see what the Easter Bunny had left. We made him wait until about 6:45 and then, we checked out the Easter baskets and saw all of the eggs that E.B. had hidden all over the house. I love Easter egg hunts! After that, we got dressed (well, and some chocolate was consumed) and went to church. I just love Easter Service at Stonebridge Church! We sang songs (which made my heart so happy!) and listened to a great message. Of course, we were in the FRONT ROW for the second year in a row on Easter Sunday because I have trouble getting to a place early and church was packed.

After church, we went to my Grandma Helen’s for Easter lunch, then back home to enjoy the rest of the day. There might have been a 15 minute cat nap somewhere in there… And check out the last picture in this Easter pic group about all of those carbs that were eaten on Easter Sunday. It cracked me up. Anyway, Easter is always a favorite of mine.

2. Maxim’s love for chocolate –

Maxim is playing flag football this spring and as a fundraiser, the boys are selling chocolate bars. Now, in the fall, his football team sells The World’s Finest Chocolate candy bars and friends…they aren’t lying. Those chocolate candy bars are the BEST. Well, this spring, they are selling this new brand. And I have to be honest. They are NOT delicious. At all. But if Maxim asks you to buy one, PLEASE DO. Just ignore that previous sentence I wrote about the lacking deliciousness, ok?  Well, I’m cracking up because he has money and HE has been his best customer. Seriously. Look at the pic. This is what I found by the chocolate candy bar box the other day…eight quarters. Clearly, he is being honest and buying them before he eats them, but listen kid. These candy bars are not for US to buy…go to friends, family, and neighbors and have them purchase the candy! 😉

3. Nate and track –

No picture this week for this next favorite, but Nate and his love for track is definitely a favorite of mine. I absolutely LOVE track and ran in college and to know that we have boys who love to run just makes me all kinds of happy. I mean, hey, we knew Nate was a speedster when he was three and ran almost a mile loop around the Lily Pond in Amana at a VERY FAST pace. And when Auntie Eileen took him to the mall when he was four, he bolted so fast that she had a hard time catching up to him (granted, she was in her high heeled boots, which does make it difficult to catch a speedy little four year old). Nate has always loved running. And now, between club track and junior high track, he has practice six days a week. Twice a week, the junior high boys have early morning practice (at 6:30) (GULP), but Nate pops up out of bed and never complains. I love seeing him use the gifts God has given him and we’re looking forward to a fun season of junior high track and club track.

4. Gibson x Living in Yellow – click this link:  Skye Jogger Pants

I wore these last Saturday and I absolutely LOVE them. I felt like I was wearing pajama pants, yet these are much cuter. #winning  I threw on my white Converse and away I went shopping for Easter supplies like canned green beans, French’s french fried onion ring (which Target was out of), and cream of coconut for the Coconut Surprise Cake I was making. Back to the jogger pants. You will LOVE these babies. And they run true to size.

5. Gibson x Living in Yellow – Chelsea Fleece Shirttail Sweater

My friend, Nikki, had this on the other day at school with a cute pair of jeans and she looked darling in it. It’s the same material as the jogger, so this cozy (yet lightweight) fleece will be perfect for those chilly spring days. This is on my “must buy” list. And of course…you know me and grey. I love it.

6. Converse Shoreline Sneakers – click link: Chuck Taylor Shoreline Sneakers

I know I highlighted some pink Converse shoes, but I had to show you these sneaks, also. I love Converse and these are super cute. Some styles of Converse only come in whole sizes, but these white ones come in half sizes, too. The Chuck Taylors are super cute with the above pair of joggers I highlighted. Or wear them with jeans shorts or capris. A classic shoe that you’ll love.

7. Gibson x Living in Yellow Millie Muscle Tank -click link: Millie Muscle Tank in plus size

This tank is so comfy and yet you can dress it up with a few necklaces, too. I love the grey and the deep violet color! Remember, just click on the peach-colored link and you can add it to your shopping cart! Easy shopping!

Well, that wraps up today’s Fun Friday Favorites! Happy springtime and happy shopping for these cute, adorable things that you just gotta have in your closet for spring!

Have a wonderful weekend!

xo ~
