Well, I’ve committed to being political correct on the blog (hahaha) and because I value ALL my readers, I thought I’d be fair and post a Fun Friday Favorites that pertains to the men. Because as we ladies know…doggone it. Men are special, too. At least that is what Jack Handey would have said on Saturday Night Live. #badaboom #micdrop
I am a BIG gift giver. I love buying and giving gifts, especially at Christmas time. My only problem? I sometimes overdo it and want to buy, buy, buy. Is that really a problem? Well, if I had won the lottery the other night, then, NO. But that didn’t pan out. #sigh
I thought I’d share some great gifts that Hubby received at Christmas. And any of these would make great Valentine’s gifts for the man in your life. Or men…just go out and buy any of these recommendations. I guarantee, you’ll like them.
Kuhl sweater –
This is a great sweater!
Scheel’s carries the brand Kuhl and I’ve been very pleased with how well their merchandise is made. Hubby has a few of the Kuhl sweaters and they are perfect to wear to work or to church or on a date. I had to do some returning of gifts and I picked up this oatmeal 1/4 zip sweater after Christmas (and it was on sale!).
This color is on sale now. #win
2. Yeti drinkware –
The 30 oz. Yeti Rambler
We got Hubby this 30 oz. Rambler when he went on his elk hunt this past fall. It was perfect for keeping his drink cool on the long drive to Colorado. Being Yeti fans, we got him the Yeti Colster for Christmas. Think of it as a manly coozie. 🙂 My friend Liz and her husband Jay carry Yeti merchandise at their stores in Belle Plaine and Traer. Support small businesses and check out their Yeti coolers and accessories at Whannel’s Hardware – U.S. Cellular stores.
Perfect for cans
3. SAXX Underwear –
These are great #saysmyhubby
Best underwear for men #comfortable
So. I’m not posting this to embarrass my hubby or my nephew, but here’s the story. Our nephew had SAXX underwear on his Christmas list so, I ordered some for him off of Amazon. I decided to order a pair for Hubby, too. I thought they’d be an interesting Christmas gift and maybe, just maybe, he’d like to try these “newest, latest & greatest” things. WELL. He tried them and he was SOLD. So when I was at Scheel’s, I picked up a few more pair for him (and they were on sale!). I do not know from personal experience that these are the best (thank goodness, huh?)…I’ve just been told. Rather than try to explain these men’s underwear in Angela Banae words…read what the SAXX website says about them. 🙂
4. Cologne –
I’m a fan of this.
We got Hubby this cologne for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it. Younkers carries this cologne and sometimes, it’s in a gift set.

Speaking of great smelling cologne…this is the cologne he has worn for the past few years (which I still love):
Montblanc…I LOVE this masculine scent
5. Sirius XM radio –
The gift that keeps on giving day after day.
When Hubby got his truck last year, it came with Sirius XM radio and we he loved it. The free trial expired and that was that. Well. Sirius XM was having a special for six months, so I signed his truck back up for this AWESOME RADIO. You guys. I LOVE this satellite radio thing! I took Hubby to Marshalltown to his sister and brother-in-law’s today (he’s heading to Omaha to look at a car). On my way back, I jammed to all of the best songs I grew up loving. Seriously. 80s on 8. 90s on 9. Hair Nation. Prime Country. So many great choices to pick from. I was reliving my days of youth and performing singing along with Pat Benatar like BOSS. You’re probably wondering what was on my set list. Here were a few hits I sang…
A classic Poison song
This song reminded me of high school softball days…we played this on the many bus trips we traveled, going to our softball games.
This one is for you, Melissa 🙂
In ninth grade, my friend, Melissa and I would sing along to her Belinda Carlisle cassette tapes. Oh. We loved Belinda. And Tiffany. And Debbie Gibson.
“Waiting For A Star To Fall”…that was our prom’s song back when I was a sophomore. Or was it my junior year? Well, anyway. The colors were kelly green and blue, I believe. And for years, I kept deflated prom balloons in my box of treasures, along with my prom glass. #momentos #Imightbeahoarder
By the time I began listening to the Cranberries, I was a freshmen or sophomore in college. We loved singing along with this grungy group, while wearing our flannel shirts and Doc Martens…those brown boots were so stylin. #thegoodlife #CUI
Pat Benatar. LOVE her.
This song came on and it was all I could do to NOT stop the truck and get out and sing from the top of my lungs with coordinating hand motions and my fake mic. So I sang inside the truck. Really loud. Pat Benatar is my “go to” when it comes to me and karaoke. “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” is my #1 song. Love me some Pat Benatar.
Well, this ended up being quite an interesting blog post today. I went from offering great gift ideas for men to giving you a run-down of my afternoon of singing along with the radio. 🙂
Let me know if you have some great gift ideas for men. Valentine’s Day is only a month away! Or share some of your favorite songs to sing along to…the ones listed above weren’t necessarily my FAVORITE, but they brought back great memories of my younger years. 🙂
Have a great weekend! xo ~ Angela Banae
