Fun Friday Favorites: Some comfy, casual fashion

Okay, so our week has continued to be busy as can be.  But if it means that your son gets his first double in baseball, then BRING IT.

Last night, Nate’s team played two games.  In his second game, he got a double and I was so excited because I just happened to be taking a picture of him up at bat.  It’s great to see the boys’ confidence grow as they are starting to really hit the ball. 🙂

And in the school arena, we are continuing to count down the days until SUMMER.  We all are ready for summer around our house.  Ready to sleep in a little.  Ready to not frantically pack lunches in the morning.  Ready to be done with homework and signing agendas.  Can I get an AMEN?  (Actually, I started failing in my mom responsibilities back in early May.  It just became a struggle to sign it every.single.day.)

But yesterday, I enjoyed another field trip.  Maxim’s kindergarten class went to Usher’s Ferry and it was a beautiful day to explore this little historic place and learn about how life was like long ago.

Today, we had 4th grade Promotion and the 4th grade Reading Fair.  I cannot believe our little guy is “graduating” from fourth grade and will be moving on to the intermediate elementary building next year.  Time needs to start slowing down, said the mama who’s wiping some tears.

Love our sweet 4th grader!

In all of this busyness, I thought it’d be good to share a few of my go-to outfits.  Outfits that you’ll find me in five out of seven days.  Basically, it’s casual and comfy.  So, no maxi dresses today.  No wedges to highlight.  Yes, those are some of my favorites, but today it’s all about comfy casual.

1.  Target’s Heather Grey Favorite V-Tee by Merona –

Grey…my FAV

Grey t-shirts.  Love them.  Basically, grey t-shirts go excellent with everything…cut-offs, jean capris, sweats, jeans.  This is my uniform.  As in, what I wear at least twice a week or four days.  But who’s counting?  Throw some silver jewelry on and you’ve dressed it up just enough.  Or add some colorful bracelets and you’ve got a pop of color to this grey look.  This top is on display in the picture of Maxim and me at the beginning of today’s blog…

2.  The Buckle’s Rock Revival Sukara cropped jean capris –

These are my favorite jean capris.

It’s been a few years since I’ve purchased jean capris.  I had a difficult time finding the “just right” jean capris.  Not too long and not too short.  With no luck in finding the perfect pair of jean capris, for the past two years, I have been cuffing my skinny jeans.  I was perfectly fine with this, but like the magical unicorn, I still continued to search for the perfect capris that I began to think never really existed.  AND THEN.  I found these about a month ago at The Buckle and immediately fell in love with them.  And since it has started warming up, I’ve been wearing them like crazy.  (I actually cuff mine a few times, unlike the model is wearing her capris.)  They are pricey, but Rock Revivals and I have a good relationship.  They fit well and I wear my money’s worth out of them.  These jean capris are perfect to wear with my grey Target t-shirt.

3.  Von Maur’s Havaianas Slim flip flop –

Everyone needs a pair of Havaianas!

Havaianas are the perfect flip flop to wear with shorts, jean capris (see item #2), or even a maxi dress.  I love my Havaianas and I think you’ll love them, too.

4.  Target’s White Favorite V-Tee by Merona –

Same t-shirt as item #1…different color.

Yes.  You’ll need a white V-Tee by Merona, too.  Uniform #2:  Jean capris with white favorite V-Tee at Target.  Love these t-shirts and right now, they are on sale at Target’s website.  I love me a sale!

5.  Dick’s Sporting Goods Nike Vintage Hoodie –

I love the pink color 🙂

These hoodies are awesome.  I bought mine at Dick’s Sporting Goods.  And you can guess…on cool mornings, I’ll throw this hot pink vintage hoodie on over my white or grey Target t-shirt.  With my jean capris.  #casualcomfy  #theperfectoutfit  At Nate’s field trip on Tuesday, I brought it along and later, tied it around my waist when the sun came out.  Perfect to wear in the spring when we have cool mornings and warm afternoons.  Also, I love full zip hoodies.  And.  Look at the options.  I might have to look into getting a black or light blue color…

6.  Dick’s Sporting Goods Nike Vintage Capris –

The super casual look

These are great capris because they are soooo comfy and super casual.  And they are super cute with the Target V-Tees and the vintage Nike hoodie.  You will feel like you are in pajamas when you wear these.

7.  The Buckle’s Rock Revival Trucker Hat –

Trucker hats are a must for summer hair.

I have a hat similar to this and by similar, I mean it is grey and black, with a vintage look.  I love trucker hats, especially in the summer.  My hair tends to frizz out and that’s when I throw my hair up in a ponytail and put my hat on.  Hats are the perfect back-up plan for those days when your hair goes bad.

8.  Silpada’s Half-Moon Bay Earrings –

These are the BEST earrings

I’ve had these earrings for a few years and I always get compliments on them.  They are so classy and simple.  These earrings make a person who might be wearing a grey or white t-shirt with her favorite jean capris feel a little more dressed up.  😉  And they look cute if you are wearing a hat, too.  Just gives a nice girlie touch when you wear a trucker hat.  These are available on Silpada’s website and you’ll wear them ALL THE TIME.  (They go perfect on those days when you aren’t exhausted and actually wear a cute maxi skirt, too.)

Well, now you too can get a comfy, casual outfit for yourself!  Or maybe you have a “go to” outfit you’d like to share?  I’m always looking for ideas.  Because I’m just gonna take a big guess that next week (our last week of school) will be just as exhausting as this week has been.  Which means that if you see me, I’ll probably be wearing my white or grey V-tee every single day.  And then.  It’ll be summer.  Ahhhh…sweet summer.

Have a wonderful weekend!  xo Angela Banae
