Fun Friday Favorites….BLT Dip recipe, fashion, and Valentine’s Day

Hello friends,

Before I begin this post, I know our hearts are so heavy with the tragedy that took place in our nation. My prayers are with the families and community of Parkland, Florida. I pray for God to help the families, the community and our nation and I pray God will protect our children, the staff, our schools, and our nation.

It’s been another busy week around our house. Between basketball games and practices, Bible study, teaching, blogging, taking down our Christmas tree (Yes. You read that correctly. #nowords), and Valentine’s Day…we’ve been busy! If you didn’t check out yesterday’s post, then click below to see what life lately looks like for us.

Today, I’ve got a variety of favorites to share with you. For starters, I’ve partnered up with Nordstrom and when you see posts on here linking you to their site, if you shop through the link and purchase the item(s), I will get a little kickback. So, thank you for helping out the blog! On a side note, I have no idea why a few pictures rotate to the side (when you are viewing it from a mobile device. When viewed from a laptop, the pictures are positioned correctly. Go figure. #technologyprobs)

And now, it’s time for Fun Friday Favorites….

  1. BLT Dip –

BLT Dip (the picture doesn’t do justice)

This dip right here is absolutely delicious and oh, so easy. I made it for Christmas and once I had the boys taste it, Nate loved it. Now, he requests it often. (Do I even need to tell you the face that our dear eight year old made when he tried it and “gagged”? #pickyeater) Anyway, the rest of us like it and whenever I take it somewhere, it’s loved by all. Or most.

BLT Dip

8-12 pieces of cooked and crumbled bacon

2-3 roma tomatoes (seeds removed)

1 cup of mayo

1 cup of sour cream

onion powder

Naan Bread cut into large bite-size pieces

Mix the mayo and sour cream together. Add the crumbled bacon (I make sure it’s cooked really crispy). Gently stir in the tomatoes. Season to taste with the onion powder (maybe 1/2 tsp or 1 tsp). Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with cut-up pieces of Naan bread or pita bread, pita chips, or carrots/celery. (We love the soft Naan bread with this dip!)

I LOVE wearing these booties!

Before Christmas, I bought these booties and they’ve been worn a ton! I love the classic UGG chestnut suede color with the sheepskin faux fur. They come in black, too. Super comfortable and you’ll thank me when you get these styling UGG booties.

A Patagonia staple that you need in your closet 🙂

I posted this picture on my Instagram story a few weekends ago. I have this sweater jacket in gray and it’s just the perfect cozy thing to wear on chilly, winter days. Throw it on with black skinny jeans and you’ve got a classic outfit. I plan to wear this in the spring as a light weight jacket, too! This is a staple that will be a classic for years.

Men…this is calling your name.

Okay men. This is a great pullover that you need in your life. I love this color so much that I got Hubby this for Christmas. It’s great for wearing to work, to church, on a date, you name it. And…this is on sale. #winwin

Hubby and the boys got me an Apple watch for my birthday and it’s rose gold. This took me on a rabbit trail to look for rose gold bracelets. And I found this one. It’s the perfect accessory to go with my Apple watch. The Michael Kors bracelet is right next to the watch. Michael Kors bracelet

6.  Misti’s Must Have’s – www.mistismusthaves.com

A few months ago, my dear friend Misti started her own business. She has a Facebook page and website where she is always showing the latest and greatest things that we all MUST HAVE. I love Misti’s style and she is rocking this business. Check her out and follow her! You’ll love seeing the latest fashions that she finds!!

7. Valentine’s Day fun –

The night before Valentine’s Day, Maxim and I worked on making his Valentine’s box. Many times throughout the night, I had to remind myself that this was HIS Valentine box, not mine. Hence, the lack of glitter and sparkle, and only a few heart stickers. He covered it with snowmobile pictures and he absolutely loved it! (I liked it, too. It was pretty cool!) #allboy  #snowmobilelife

Valentine’s Day fun 🙂

Here was our Valentine’s night…chocolates, homemade cards, fun gifts, and some hugs and smoochies for this mama. 🙂

And that wraps up Fun Friday Favorites! Also, if you haven’t subscribed to the blog, please do so! Each new post I write will come to your email inbox…you’ll never miss a post again!

Have a great weekend!!! xo ~ Angela Banae
