Answered prayers

My last post was titled “Needing prayers…” and though it’s taken me some time to get back on here, the title of this blog post says it all. Answered prayers.

Yes. I am praising God for all He has done in my life over the past week and a half.

Last Thursday, Hubby and I went to my doctor appointment to meet with Dr. Reid, my oncologist surgeon. He gave us the results of last Monday’s biopsies. Benign. The results came back benign. I was in a state of shock. Patrick wasn’t. His words were, “See, I knew it was going to be okay.”

While I don’t like to be Debbie Downer, I have to tell you. I had this peace when I was in that room, waiting for the results. Peace that only God can give. Peace that I had because I had soooo many people praying for us, lifting us up in prayer, and asking God for this to all be okay. And so, as I waited for Dr. Reid to tell us the news, this peace that surpasses all understanding was over me. And praise God that Dr. Reid gave us good news!

So, thank you to all of you who lifted us up in prayer as we waited to hear the results. Now, we’d still LOVE your prayers as we prepare for my surgery on Wednesday, May 9th. I’ll have a few more doctor appointments to get ready for this surgery and then, on May 9th, I will have a lumpectomy. I should be able to come home that night and Dr. Reid will send those results to pathology, but he feels confident all of this is benign. We would love for your prayers as we wait for this surgery, for the surgery to go well, for the results to come back benign, and for me to have quick and complete healing.

I am continuing to lift up the prayer requests that you dear readers shared last week. I am praying you will see God’s goodness, His mercy, and answers to prayers. You know, this life is hard. And God doesn’t want us to do it alone. That’s the beauty of sharing our hearts. Yes. We become vulnerable, but geeeeshh. When you see the family and friends surrounding you with their prayers, giving you a love or like on Facebook, sending you a text or email…those things are the best. Thank you so much for your awesomeness.

As we continue down life’s crazy, hard, beautiful, messy road, I want to leave you with these two verses I have highlighted in my Bible. And I want to share what the subtitle says.

In Luke 11, right before verses 9 and 10, the subtitle says –

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking

And read what verses 9 and 10 say –

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Let’s keep asking God for His help, His healing, and His wisdom. Then, we need to seek it. And when we knock…God will be there, ready to help us in the way He sees best fit for our lives.

Praising God for answered prayers and believing God for great things to come!
