Can I write a Weekend Recap mid-week?

Well, I’m going to answer that question for you all.  YES.  Of course I can write a Weekend Recap about LAST WEEKEND mid-week.  Because on the Angela Banae Blog, it only makes sense for me to be running late/behind on every.single.thing.  Hahaha

I’ll start by sharing that Hubby and I made a flying trip to Lexington, Nebraska for his high school best buddy’s wedding Friday evening.  The wedding was Saturday morning at 11:00 and we were so happy to be apart of Keith and Tiffany’s special day.  After the reception, we drove back home because Nate had a track meet the following day. #busytimes

While on the road trip to the wedding, Hubby found two radio stations that were TO DIE FOR.  Seriously. They played ’80s music like BOSS.  I was in heaven the entire time we were driving in their radio frequency range.  My only problem was this:  I’m firmly convinced they changed the words to many of the ’80s songs.  Because I was on spot about 22% of the time.  Unless Madonna, Erasure, or Rick Springfield came on.  Then, my accuracy went up to 99.9999%.

The boys went to my parents for the night, rather than ride along for the the 6.5 hour car ride.  They had a wonderful time fishing, eating fish, having a camp fire, and all other activities that every kid would love.

Sunday, we went to church and then, we went to Nate’s all-day track meet.  It was our home meet, so parents needed to sign up to help.  Hubby took care of the boys while I was a timer.  And do you know what?  Technology has improved since my days of running track.  I know.  Shocking.  There were no individual stop watches, just little remote buttons that fed into a small computer/timer machine.  You can imagine how confusing it was for me.  And you can also imagine how many questions I asked before we began the track meet.  I’m proud to say that I exceeded my expectations of being a timer in this new world of technology.  And I’m confident that I didn’t mess up a single runner’s time.  (It’s the little things we need to praise our MIGHTY SAVIOR for.  All glory be to God that I was accurate and eased into the 21st century of track timer technology.)

Nate ran so well at his meet.  He ran the 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, and 800 meter run.  A great day all around for the competitors, parents, coaches, and timers. 😉

By Monday, we (and by that, I mean the grown-ups at our house…Hubby and me) were exhausted.  Of course, Nate and Maxim had enough energy to play two rounds of baseball, line up a kickball game, engage in a brutal war of water guns, and more…  WHY CAN’T WE HAVE HALF OF THEIR ENERGY??  And, Nate went to a two hour batting and pitching practice that night.  Seriously, I’m exhausted just typing about it.  The bright side of Monday night was that we ordered take-out from our favorite place – Sushi House.  A perfect ending to a fun, busy weekend.

Yesterday, I went with Nate’s 4th grade class on a field trip and ended the evening with track practice in the rain. #funtimes

And now, it’s Wednesday.  Whew.

So, I’d say that this week is sounding just as crazy as last week (minus the school projects spread out all over the living room).  But we are on the count down and by next Friday, school will be out for summer.  I have no idea what we’ll do with all of our spare time??  Complete SARCASM.  I’m sure it’ll involve running here and there, water gun fights, and me continuing to think there is an ’80s conspiracy involving all of my favorite songs I grew up listening to and how their words have been changed.
